Vietnam rises into Global Top 20 for Mobile Internet Speed
25. September 2025Vietnam has entered the global Top 20 rankings for mobile internet speed for the first time. In September 2024, the country’s average mobile internet speed was 54.17 Mbps, placing it 51st worldwide. Within less than six months, this figure surged to 148.64 Mbps—nearly a threefold increase. This significant improvement is largely attributed to the expansion of 5G networks by telecom providers VinaPhone and Viettel. According to Ookla’s Speedtest reports for the first half of 2025, VinaPhone ranked second globally for 5G network performance, while Viettel placed third in the overall ranking of mobile networks.
