Vietnam Textile Exports Projected to Reach $46 Billion in 2026 Amid Industry Recovery

February 2026Vietnam’s textile and garment sector is forecast to generate $46 billion in export revenue in 2026, representing a 5.6 percent increase compared with 2025, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS). The industry reported a trade surplus of approximately $21 billion, highlighting its significant role in supporting the country’s overall trade balance. Domestic value-added has reached around 52 percent, indicating improved self-reliance in sourcing raw materials and intermediate inputs. Textiles usually require CR certification in order to be approved for import and sale in Vietnam.

Vietnam continues to rank as the world’s third-largest exporter of textile and apparel products, following China and Bangladesh, with goods distributed across 138 international markets. The United States remains the leading destination, with export turnover projected at $18.6 billion in 2026, up 11.75 percent year-on-year. Apparel items account for roughly $38 billion of the expected total export value. Strong buyer confidence is reflected in orders secured through the first quarter of 2026, while companies are negotiating additional contracts for the subsequent quarter.
